Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 - - April 9, 2021) was known as DMX was an American rapper and actor. The rapper began rapping in early 1990s , and released his debut album It's dark and Hell is Hot in 1998, to the delight of critics and commercial success, selling 251,000 copies within the first week of release. [5][6(6 DMX released his best-selling album, ... And Then There was X, in 1999, and included the smash single "Party Up (Up in Here)". The singles he released in 2003, "Where is the Hood At?" His 2003 singles, "Where the Hood at?" and "X Gon' Make It To Ya", were also commercially profitable. The artist was the first to make an album No.1 five times in a row on the Billboard 200 charts. 7. DMX has sold over 74 million records all over the world. 8. DMX was in movies such as Belly, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Last Hour. He starred in the reality TV series DMX. Soul of a Man. It was aired by the BET cable channel Never Die Alone. He released E.A.R.L., his memoirs in 2003. : The Autobiography of DMX. 9 DMX was introduced to the music business at age 14 when he was a beatboxer with Ready Ron. After being imprisoned for taking a dog, it was then that he began writing his own lyrics and performing at the local recreation center that was geared towards younger youngsters. While in prison for carjacking, the rapper began to devote a lot of his time to creating lyrics. He also met and performed with K-Solo. 3] After he was released that summer the rapper began making and selling his own mixtapes where he performed raps over instrumentals from songs. DMX died of a heart attack triggered by cocaine on April 9, 2021.
